Human Resources Benefits Associate

Coordinates the administration of employee benefit plans and provides up-to-date benefits information to the university community


Essential Job Functions

Reconciles, submits payment, and maintains records for various vendor bills, and coordinates benefit plan audits

Processes benefit changes and communicates those changes to appropriate departmental staff and vendors

Coordinates payment of employee premium contributions, and assists with annual open enrollment and recertification processes

Coordinates the day to day functions of the benefit programs and communicates with vendor representatives to resolve issues, improve processes and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies

Reviews completeness of and processes applications for various educational programs

Assists employees with benefit questions and provides excellent customer service by providing direction and resolution to employee matters in a courteous and timely manner

Works as part of a cross functional team to implement benefit programs

Conducts new employee benefits orientation

Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 

Experience working in benefits administration or in other related work  

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

One or more years of experience working in benefits administration
