Summary

Guides faculty in the design, development and teaching of online courses for the College of Online Education

 

Essential Job Functions

Collaborates with faculty in the creation of new courses and the revision of existing courses for online delivery

Recommends the appropriate tools, media, and teaching strategies to accomplish course goals, objectives, and outcomes, assisting with the identification, selection, and application of appropriate assessment tools and strategies needed by faculty

Develops and delivers initial and ongoing faculty development in the effective application of online tools, course design, and online instruction

Oversees the course development process, monitoring that deadlines are met and that online courses meet university standards

Mentors faculty in the effective use of the online platform for delivery of online instruction

Identifies and assists in implementing innovative and effective online learning techniques, as deemed appropriate by academic leadership, and explores and provides information to the academic community on emerging technologies

Assesses and addresses the needs of faculty on a continuous basis to help improve the effectiveness of online instruction

Collaborates with school leadership on the evaluation of faculty developing and teaching online courses

Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a master's degree

Moderate amount of experience working in instructional design or in

other related work

 

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or greater in education, instructional design or a

related field of study 

 

*Important Note: This position is located on the university's Providence, Rhode Island campus. It is not a remote-based position.
