Summary

Works to enhance student events and traditions by providing guidance through the student programming board and venue operation support

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Advises the student involvement board and supports implementation and operations for major student events and traditions
  • Supports clubs and organizations with designing, approving and posting resource room materials across campus physically and through university electronic mediums to encourage student engagement and participation
  • Creates, implements and monitors department, clubs and student organization’s social media platforms, as well as yearbook, to encourage student engagement and participation
  • Oversees venue registration software, including training university employees on software use
  • Facilitates training of student leaders and provides on-site support for events held on campus
  • Maintains operating knowledge of audio-visual equipment and technology, as well as coordinates general maintenance, repairs and cleanliness of on campus spaces
  • Serves as advisor or co-advisor for a variety of student organizations, including assisting in event planning, fundraising and alumni engagement
  • Assists with preparation and implementation of department programs and events
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Monitors the departmental budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in higher education, venue/operation management or in other related work

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in communications, counseling, general studies, event planning, student affairs administration, student development or related field or a related field of study
