Summary

Leads the university’s institutional research and analysis team in the design and implementation of strategic data collection systems, reporting and analysis efforts in response to the needs of internal and external constituencies

Essential Job Functions

  • Assesses the research and analysis needs of the university's strategic planning efforts, conducts research to support strategic initiatives, and provides results of analysis and recommendations to campus leaders
  • Designs methodologies for conducting external market analysis in support of new programs, and evaluating the outcomes of new programs
  • Defines and maintains key university data points
  • Meets reporting requirements of external agencies and organizations and demonstrates a knowledge of data use and reporting
  • Directs and oversees the dissemination of data and information in formats useful to decision-makers across the university
  • Collaborates with owners of various internal source systems to maintain data quality in analysis and reporting
  • Manages the administration of universitywide surveys and assists with the administration of campus and department surveys
  • Works with university leaders and internal and external stakeholders to determine the depth of research and analysis needs universitywide; develops plans to support research and analysis and oversees the execution of those plans
  • Prepares materials for presentation to senior leaders
  • Oversees the design and development of reporting systems and data warehouses used for strategic reporting and analysis
  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget
  • Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position 
  • Significant amount of experience working in institutional research or in other related work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience working in enrollment management
