Summary

Coordinates the administration of employee benefit plans and provides up-to-date benefits information to the university community

Essential Job Functions

  • Reconciles, submits payment, and maintains records for various vendor bills, and coordinates benefit plan audits
  • Processes benefit changes and communicates those changes to appropriate departmental staff and vendors
  • Coordinates payment of employee premium contributions, and assists with annual open enrollment and recertification processes
  • Coordinates the day to day functions of the benefit programs and communicates with vendor representatives to resolve issues, improve processes and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies
  • Reviews completeness of and processes applications for various educational programs
  • Assists employees with benefit questions and provides excellent customer service by providing direction and resolution to employee matters in a courteous and timely manner
  • Works as part of a cross functional team to implement benefit programs
  • Conducts new employee benefits orientation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Experience working in benefits administration or in other related work 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One or more years of experience working in benefits administration

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
