Essential Job Functions
- Serves as a liaison to academic departments to provide embedded and customized instructional support to faculty and research assistance to students
- Oversees the library's operations and manages patron borrowing services
- Prepares and presents seminars on the use of print and electronic information sources
- Provides general reference and scholarly research assistance to students and other library patrons regarding library resource material location and retrieval
- Oversees and manages the campus library's interlibrary loan system as well as the serials collection
- Researches industry best practices for effective library reference material management and implements practices, as appropriate
- Develops print and online guides to library facilities, resources and services
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a master's degree
- Experience working in library reference services or other related experience
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to support students with computer and printer issues
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in library and information science
Please Note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
