Summary
Performs the functions of a head coach of a varsity athletic team as well as performs complex auxiliary administrative duties in the athletics department, as assigned.

Essential Job Functions
- Serves as a head coach and executes the functions identified in that job classification
- Performs complex auxiliary administrative duties in the athletics department, as assigned
- Acts as a mentor to department staff and coaches providing guidance, assessment and feedback
- Researches trends and new initiatives and presents findings at departmental meetings
- Collaborates with university departments to identify opportunities for partnerships in assigned area of expertise to meet the strategic objectives of the institution
- Serves on the Athletics department senior leadership team to lead strategic planning, coaches’ roundtables, student athlete leader development and advising the Director of Athletics on policy as requested
- Prepares and monitors departmental budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Significant amount of experience with collegiate head coaching or other related experience
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- First Aid, CPR, AED certification, or willingness to attain such certification(s) upon hire
