Essential Job Functions

• Oversees the dining operations and facility to provide quality customer experiences
• Meets with clients to plan catered events and oversees the execution of these events
• Performs routine inspections of the property to assess the facilities condition and makes recommendations, as needed
• Creates menus for the dining center and executes the preparation and delivery of menu items, as needed
• Coordinates the instruction of students at the dining center and assesses performance based on university guidelines
• Maintains supply inventory by ordering supplies from approved vendors, receiving goods, and storing them appropriately
• Creates and coordinates work schedules for staff and students
• Prepares and monitors departmental budget
• Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
• Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
• Moderate amount of experience working in culinary or other related experience
• Obtain and maintain food safety managers certification approved by Conference for Food Protection (e.g., ServSafe)
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
