Essential Job Functions

  • Proposes, develops and implements academic support programs and services, including planning, administration, and evaluation of academic success initiatives in an effort to actively engage students
  • Manages the department’s student staff selection and onboarding process
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates activities to support successful first-year college transitions
  • Oversees and develops marketing and outreach strategies to promote current academic success programs for students and department staff
  • Works closely with faculty members to reinforce and deliver course concepts for students
  • Partners with other members of the department to provide academic success updates and makes recommendations to support student success
  • Manages and conducts routine communications, outreaches and programs for students on academic alert, warning, or probation
  • Collects and analyzes program effectiveness and satisfaction data and makes recommendations based on information collected to streamline processes and changes
  • Collaborates with other university departments to implement academic support initiatives
  • Develops a detailed and proactive communication intervention support plan in an effort to actively engage students
  • Evaluates, monitors, and reports on student progress by identifying and developing student success indicators
  • Participates on various committees and represents the department at on-campus outreach events, in an effort to promote services provided by the department
  • Provides referrals to other on-campus departments or resources to further support student academic success
  • Oversees students with high-fail rates and works with them to create individualized learning plans to promote academic success
  • Assists with departmental budget
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in academic success programs, teaching, training, first-year student experience, college student transition programs or other related experience
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
