Essential Job Functions

• Maintains laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies according to departmental guidelines
• Completes set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises to prepare the laboratory for academic use
• Provides for proper and safe storage and disposal of hazardous liquid and solid waste in compliance with university, state and federal safety regulations
• Maintains SDS (Safety Data Sheet) records
• Assists faculty and students with operation of laboratory equipment
• Assists with purchasing and ordering laboratory supplies, as necessary
• Assists in preparing and monitoring departmental budget, as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent formal training program
• Laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent formal training program in chemistry, biology or a related area of study
• Familiarity with GC and GCMS
