Essential Job Functions
- Maintains laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies according to departmental guidelines
- Completes set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises to prepare the laboratory for academic use
- Provides for proper and safe storage and disposal of hazardous liquid and solid waste in compliance with university, state and federal safety regulations
- Maintains SDS (Safety Data Sheet) records
- Assists faculty and students with operation of laboratory equipment
- Assists with purchasing and ordering laboratory supplies, as necessary
- Assists in preparing and monitoring departmental budget, as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent formal training program
- Laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent formal training program in chemistry, biology or a related area of study
- Familiarity with GC and GCMS
