Summary
The Director of Prospect Management & Research is integral to the university’s prospect identification and pipeline management efforts. The Director oversees prospect management services and processes; manages, reviews and coordinates research efforts on existing and potential donors to provide valuable information to update the advancement database, identify prospects and create bios; and partners in creating donor strategies.

Essential Job Functions
- Analyzes information from online services and the advancement database to identify, rate, and recommend prospects through biographical, financial and philanthropic research
- Engages in proactive prospect identification and qualification and provides research-based counsel regarding strategy, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to assist development
- Executes a variety of prospect management services including portfolio development, portfolio management, portfolio analysis and review, pipeline management and prospect management processes and data management
- Standardizes research requests by establishing policies, procedures, templates and a tracking system
- Creates bios for the purpose of events, leadership meetings and other university activities, as requested
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in prospect research, higher education or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or greater in business, liberal arts or a related field of study
- Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge
