Essential Job Functions
- Develops and promotes alumni programs aimed at generating and retaining interest and connection, while upholding the traditions that support the university
- Supports the strategic development and execution of alumni events by managing communication strategies, organizing event logistics, coordinating volunteers, and disseminating university standards for events
- Manages specialized alumni programs, including the alumni portal, developing a communication outreach plan, collaborating across departments to provide resources, and building a mentoring program to engage and strengthen student and alumni connections
- Directs and organizes alumni events, including affinity-based reunions and special fundraising initiatives, in collaboration with committee members to develop, plan, market, and provide logistical support
- Works closely with designated alumni committees, preparing detailed meeting agendas, reports, and supporting materials
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in event planning, fundraising or other related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent customer service, presentation, verbal/written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, event planning, marketing or in a related field of study
- Experience working with committees
- Experience with using a (CRM) customer relationship management system (e.g., Raiser's Edge NXT)
