Oversees the daily front of house (FOH) catering operations while working closely with other members of the department to promote successful outcomes of all catering events

Essential Job Functions
- Manages the FOH preparation of events including; buffets, stations and plated events, and assists with the preparation, as needed
- Manages and aids in the full execution of all events including; the set up and breakdown
- Supervises and assists with the loading and unloading of catering vehicles for campus events
- Supervises FOH services during catered events to promote successful outcomes
- Maintains that the timeline of events are accurate by working with clients
- Works closely with other members of the department to maintain event fluidity
- Oversees and assists in event completion post-event
- Maintains all sanitation and appropriate food safety standards established by the university
- Maintains the proper storage and rotation of ready-made food products complying with appropriate food safety standards
- Performs bartending and serving duties at events
- Maintains a completed liquor inventory for all catered events
- Understands seating floorplans and banquet event order’s (BEO) per specific request
- Monitors the departmental budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures.
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Experience working in a supervisory role within the hospitality field or other related experience
- Obtain and maintain food safety managers certification approved by conference for food protection
- Obtain and maintain Alcohol certification (TIPS or STOP)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to work nights and weekends
