Summary
Manages insurance programs. Manages institutional liability exposures through proactive loss prevention and enterprise risk management (ERM) practices.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages the university’s insurance programs, including policy procurement, policy renewal, and negotiations with brokers and carriers
- Submits claims and coordinates with brokers, claim adjusters and carriers
- Reviews broker and carrier contracts with the Office of the General Counsel and reviews third-party contract insurance provisions for compliance
- Supports institutional risk mitigation functions, including carrier-recommended or required trainings and related functions
- Supports institutional ERM initiatives through risk identification, analysis and reporting
- Conducts ongoing department risk assessments and provides recommendations to mitigate risks
- Contributes to business continuity and emergency preparedness planning
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in insurance and risk management in academia or other industry related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or greater in business or a related field of study
Compensation: $110,000 - $113,000/annualized
