Summary
Assists with managing academic success initiatives and programs designed to promote student learning and retention, and maintains consistent and effective academic support services
Essential Job Functions
- Proposes, develops, and implements academic support programs and services, including planning, administration, and evaluation of academic success initiatives
- Collects, analyzes, and drafts data-rich reports on program effectiveness and satisfaction data and makes recommendations for streamlining processes
- Provides guidance on university and department-specific software tools and processes system access requests, as appropriate
- Evaluates, monitors, and reports on student progress by identifying and developing student success indicators
- Participates on various committees and represents the department at on-campus outreach events
- Collaborates with other university departments to collect, request, and/or analyze data relevant to implementing academic support initiatives
- Maintains organized documentation of office administrative procedures
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a master's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in academic success programs, teaching, training, first-year student experience, college student transition programs or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with academic success coaching or similar student support focused on academic skill development
- Experience supporting, coordinating or providing tutoring or peer learning services in higher education

Qualified candidates must live or relocate to live within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
