Support and maintain the human resources information systems (HRIS) for the internal functional areas and university employees.


Essential Job Functions

  • Assists in the development, implementation, maintenance, reporting and coordination of the human resources information system (HRIS).
  • Maintains user access including user role verification.
  • Monitors scheduled system jobs and researches exceptions.
  • Works with internal and external customers on systems maintenance, configuration changes, enhancements, projects and system upgrades.
  • Participates in discussion and review of documentation regarding best practices, processes and functionality decisions based on potential changes.
  • Writes, updates, and supports a variety of system reports or queries utilizing available reporting tools.
  • Researches and resolves process flaws.
  • Troubleshoots system errors and assesses options for resolutions.
  • Assists with assessment and documentation of departmental needs for HRIS enhancements, upgrades, new project initiatives and system implementations.
  • Analyzes HR processes and makes recommendations for improvements via the use of technology.
  • Develops system procedures, guidelines and documentation for HR users; as well as trains internal staff on system access and utilization.
  • Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate and test the application of a system upgrade or update to correct an issue.
  • Assists in maintaining data integrity in system by running queries and analyzing system data.
  • Develops, updates and modifies codes, tables and other HRIS configurations to meet departmental functionality and reporting needs.
  • Updates and tests system configuration as needed to accommodate new or desired functionality.
  • Processes employee payroll, as needed, in compliance with university policies and procedures and applicable payroll regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
  • Moderate amount of experience working with HRIS or other related systems
  • Experience with using SQL and Cognos report writing


 Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a 100 mile radius of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
