Essential Job Functions
- Oversees the daily operations of the desktop engineering services team, including service management tools such as device imaging, desktop software deployment and patching, asset management and ticketing systems
- Develops and maintains a device imaging strategy for the university community which combines existing processes with best practices
- Plans, manages, and communicates software and solution deployments and upgrades within project timelines and budgets
- Researches root causes of problems and implements corrective action
- Leads the development and/or update of documentation to prevent future incidents, document workarounds, and improve incident management responsiveness
- Assists in the development and maintenance of hardware and software standards for the university in support of standardization, efficiency, asset management and equipment corresponding to job responsibilities
- Manages system administration of enterprise desktop asset management software tools
- Works collaboratively with members of the IT team, as well as other university areas, to deliver a high level of service and support to the university community
- Serves on IT and universitywide teams and represents the university and the IT department at industry, community and regional functions
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in information technology management, client services, project management or in other related work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience with Quest KACE
