Faculty/Clinical Coordinator - Nursing Program

Summary

Serves in the dual role of faculty and clinical coordinator for the nursing program. Maintains compliance with the accreditation standards of the Consortium of Colleges of Nursing Education (CCNE). The clinical coordinator is responsible for the coordination of clinical sites, the management of clinical agreements and serves as the liaison to clinical partners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepares and delivers relevant and current curriculum using a variety of teaching methods and standardized tools that accurately reflect effectiveness of course content
  • Recruits, develops and maintains clinical year rotations and other experiential learning sites and matches students with these sites
  • Visits clinical sites regularly for student and site evaluation to oversee quality of the student experience
  • Maintains compliance with accreditation standards including those of CCNE
  • Meets all other expectations of faculty including those relative to professional development
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or other appropriate accreditation as determined by JWU 
  • Experience working in nursing, teaching or other related experience
  • Active, unencumbered registered nurse license in Rhode Island or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Rhode Island

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing or related field of study
  • Earned doctorate 
  • Three or more years clinical experience
  • Five or more years of teaching experience 
  • Medical-surgical experience

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
