Essential Job Functions

  • Prepares the vice chancellor of academic administration (VCAA) for a variety of meetings, presentations and discussions, including researching and gathering critical information on issues, developing, and proposing agenda items, and conducting necessary follow-ups
  • Manages and coordinates the administrative and day-to-day affairs of the VCAA’s office, including functions, meetings, events, projects, and activities.
  • Communicates with internal and external constituencies regarding various matters; composes and edits correspondence, presentations, reports, and other documents and follows up, as necessary
  • Develops institutional relationships to foster collaboration with a variety of individuals internal and external to the organization
  • Anticipates and problem solve issues and concerns impacting the work of the VCAA; participates in priority setting and brainstorming with the VCAA and other JWU faculty and staff
  • Represents and speaks on behalf of the VCAA office at meetings, as requested
  • Manages office projects including developing project objectives and timelines, identifying and engaging resources, communicating with project members, and managing project budgets
  • Researches and analyzes problems and issues and makes recommendations to the executive
  • Serves as department liaison, working collaboratively on strategic initiatives with other university departments and external constituencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master's degree
  • Moderate amount of work experience in project management, executive support, higher education or in other related work 

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
