Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and executes creative design solutions for assigned client projects that meet client communication objectives as well as maintain strong visual appearance, usability, and brand continuity
  • Updates existing designs for various departments throughout the university
  • Manages multiple projects while adhering to designated production schedules, budgets and deadlines
  • Participates in client meetings and coordinates client needs, including documenting clients suggestions; preparing design layouts, drafts, roughs, and comps; and presenting solutions to clients, as assigned
  • Coordinates projects with copywriters to meet client needs and production schedules
  • Creates print specifications in preparation for print production
  • Manages materials necessary for successful completion of projects, including electronic job files, updating portfolios and archiving of finished projects
  • Assists with photography searches and art direction, as assigned, as well as secures location and model releases when necessary
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, as well as learns new software programs to enhance technical skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent formal training program
  • Moderate amount of experience working in graphic design, print production or other related experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and XD


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent formal training program in graphic design, fine arts, visual arts or in a related field of study

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
