Essential Job Functions
- Facilitates the state authorization process through the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) by preparing and submitting applications and other reports to state regulators and the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA)
- Establishes and maintains relationships with state higher education personnel, university partners and internal stakeholders; communicates with multiple state jurisdictions
- Maintains knowledge of federal and state regulations and laws affecting higher education and maintains university compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards ; communicates regulatory updates accordingly
- Researches, maintains and shares information on the international requirements for online education
- Researches and reports on professional licensure and certification requirements for university programs across the US for employment in licensed fields
- Supports college administration and faculty in making determinations regarding the ability of academic programs to meet licensure and certification requirements
- Maintains records of determinations and required disclosures for professional licensures and certifications; coordinates with other university departments to communicate requirements to current students and applicants
- Drafts and reviews state authorization applications, reports and responses
- Provides reports to various university areas as needed
- Manages and executes multiple projects and initiatives related to state authorization and professional licensure
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in higher education, public policy, legal or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or greater in business, legal studies, communications or a related field of study
- Prior experience with state authorization and/or licensing compliance for higher education
