Essential Job Functions

  • Supports students and encourages them to use the lab to support various academic or personal projects
  • Trains faculty, staff, and students in the use of all lab equipment
  • Serves as primary liaison with lab equipment vendors to support appropriate and timely service and repair of lab equipment
  • Provides guidance and training on the design software used in the center
  • Collaborates with department faculty and staff on the scheduling of lab use
  • Completes set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises to prepare the laboratory for academic use
  • Collaborates with other university departments to create a design and innovation network
  • Collaborates with faculty lab personnel on the purchase and maintenance of simulation laboratory supplies
  • Teaches courses in the College of Engineering & Design, as assigned
  • Coordinates with faculty and students to support innovation curriculum based on individual design interests
  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with three-dimensional printers, laser cutters, maker space equipment or other related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, design, or a related field of study

 

Please Note:

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
