Essential Job Functions

  • Performs general office tasks such as filing, distributing mail, maintaining records, scanning, copying, entering data (e.g., databases, web updates, excel etc.), ordering and maintaining office supplies, preparing reports, maintaining and managing department/administrator calendars, arranging for equipment and associated maintenance, and posting/removing flyers
  • Reviews student immunization records for completion
  • Assists students with the submission of medical documents in the electronic health records portal under the direction of a licensed medical provider
  • Assists students with making appointments, verifying student demographic information and preparing students for office visits
  • Orders medical and office materials and supplies necessary to sustain a proper functioning health services department
  • Maintains sanitation and inventory of the clinic
  • Acts as a liaison for departmental matters
  • Builds relationships and coordinates visits with external visitors
  • Coordinates lab specimen pick up
  • Greets and assists students, visitors and university employees as appropriate; answers incoming telephone calls, resolving complex and varied concerns or referring them to other staff members or departments; as necessary
  • Reports care results to Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a timely manner
  • Assists with educational programs that teach students about health-related matters and promote healthy practices on campus
  • Assists with on-campus student events and outreach efforts
  • Updates and maintains the departments social media accounts
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience working in medical office assisting or other related experience

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
