Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates and provides services to students participating in the Wildcat Learning Effectiveness in Action Program (LEAP)
  • Works with students to develop learning plans and academic portfolios
  • Develops individualized coaching relationships with students, assesses student needs and connects students with appropriate resources and support services
  • Coordinates and manages the Wildcat LEAP summer program
  • Supports Wildcat LEAP instructor with the planning and execution of course materials, as needed
  • Organizes and coordinates specialized workshops for students on various topics; develops and presents content, as needed
  • Meets with prospective and current students and their families, as needed, and maintains records accordingly
  • Participates in various internal and external outreach events and recruits new students to Wildcat LEAP
  • Educates faculty on best practices they can use while teaching students with disabilities including researching and recommending assistive technology
  • Advises on personal and academic issues for students with disabilities
  • Collaborates with other university departments and serves on campus committees, as needed
  • Monitors the departmental budget
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in special education, teaching, counseling or related experience

 

Please Note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
