Essential Job Functions
- Serves as primary point of contact for accessibility services on campus
- Oversees, manages and facilitates the provision of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, maintains confidentiality and compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Reviews various forms of medical, psychological and academic documentation to determine a student's eligibility and necessary reasonable accommodations within classrooms and campus housing
- Serves as a consultant for faculty and staff to assist with the implementation of accommodations and provides recommendations and guidance for accessibility services across campus to maintain equal access for students with disabilities
- Organizes and administers campus testing activities and coordinates proctors for testing sessions
- Schedules and coordinates auxiliary services such as ASL interpreters, CART providers and other professional services required for student accommodations
- Contributes to campus accessibility by serving on committees and task groups, as well as training faculty, staff and students on inclusive practices
- Maintains accessibility services database and serves as primary contact for troubleshooting and training
- Educates prospective students and families on applicable disability laws and protections, and the accommodations process, including required documentation, technical standards and self-advocacy
- Evaluates, tests, and recommends potential assistive technology devices or software for students
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a master's degree
- Experience with managing learning disability services or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social work, counseling, human services, education or a related field of study
