Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates assessment initiatives across all student engagement programs and activities to support continuous improvement to programs, services and student engagement
  • Serves as primary advisor to various student organizations, boards and student staff
  • Supervises the development, implementation and assessment of campus programming (e.g. clubs, organizations, fraternity and sorority life)
  • Oversees the planning and implementation of student programs, campus events and traditions and theme awareness programming (e.g. women’s history month, black history month, etc.)
  • Directs the university’s work with, and risk management for nationally recognized fraternities and sororities
  • Supervises co-curricular development of leadership programming
  • Oversees the budget process for student organizations
  • Provides direction for emergencies that occur during programming and responds promptly to crisis situations
  • Oversees the planning, implementation and execution of family programs
  • Collaborates with staff and other university departments to create transition programs for in-need populations such as first-year, first-generation, legacy, siblings, etc.
  • Supervises the development of marketing materials for various programs, including print material and material for the department's website, collaborating with other departments as needed
  • Prepares and monitors departmental budget
  • Supervises and develops department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master's degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in student development, student affairs or other related experience

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
