Faculty/Simulation Lab Manager–Nursing Program

Summary

Serves in the dual role of faculty and simulation and virtual reality lab manager for the nursing program. Maintains compliance with the accreditation standards of the Consortium of Colleges of Nursing Education (CCNE). The simulation manager is responsible for the maintenance and safe use of the simulators and other lab equipment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists faculty with the delivery of simulated experiential education; maintains currency in the field
  • Maintains simulators and works with vendors to keep simulators in good working condition
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of interprofessional education programs within the College of Health & Wellness; works with other programs within the College of Health & Wellness to deliver well designed interprofessional education among departments
  • Serves as a resource to nursing faculty and other faculty within the college of Health & Wellness
  • Maintains compliance with accreditation standards including those of CCNE
  • Meets all other expectations of faculty including those relative to professional development
  • Monitors the departmental budget
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master's degree
  • Experience working in nursing, teaching or other related experience
  • Active, unencumbered registered nurse license in state of employment or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in state of employment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of expereince with clinical bedside nursing 
  • Experience in nursing education 
  • Experience with nursing/healthcare simulation
  • Earned doctorate degree or enrolled in doctoral program with 18 or less hours remaining in the program

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
