Summary

Advises assigned student populations regarding experiential education programs collaborating with faculty to support seamless and quality experiences for students and employers

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Meets with students to determine their eligibility and readiness for work experience programs
  • Advises students regarding the application and placement process, and assists students in work placement as needed
  • Researches, approves and manages employer sites for experiential education opportunities for students
  • Collaborates with employers in the evaluation of student performance and grades student materials in preparation for compiling an overall academic grade for the student; submits individual grades per university standards
  • Conducts experiential education information and orientation sessions for students and employers to provide program information, such as student and employer expectations, grading procedures, and typical assignments
  • Develops employer relationships, monitors standards for experiential education program sites, responds to concerns and makes adjustments as needed
  • Participates in various career events; assists with planning as needed
  • Answers questions from various constituents, such as parents, students and employers, in a professional and appropriate manner following department and university guidelines for information sharing and efficient service
  • Maintains records and collects data per department guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in experiential education, higher education or in other related work

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in management, hospitality or a related field of study
