Summary

Oversees the academic advising, financial planning, and other support services for students enrolled in the College of Professional Studies (CPS) programs

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversees the activities and daily operations of student academic advising and student support services, as well as the coordination of financial aid and planning services for CPS students with the designated staff at CPS and in Student Academic & Financial Services
  • Develops and implements support resources to help students succeed in programs, including webinars, FAQ sheets, how-to guides, and other self-service support tools
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategic annual enrollment and communication plans for the College of Professional Studies in collaboration with other CPS directors
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative and cooperative relationships with staff and faculty in various university departments to provide appropriate support for students
  • Evaluates the workflow processes and students' satisfaction with student services, and makes changes and adjustments as needed to maintain efficient student service and high levels of satisfaction
  • Oversees student record maintenance and reporting on academic and financial matters (e.g., student enrollment, class registration and/or financial clearance information)
  • Uses the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform and analytics to track and report on the success of department staff in meeting the college's retention goals; provides support to staff in enhancing re-enrollment and retention results to achieve goals\
  • Monitors the departmental budget
  • Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus, and department policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master's degree
  • Moderate amount of proactive academic advising experience with online students in higher education or other related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration, education, psychology, counseling, or a related field of study
  • Significant amount of experience with engaging in and overseeing online student services in higher education

This position requires the ability to commute to campus for work as needed. Opportunities to work from home may be discussed with the hiring manager.

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
