Summary

Administers the student financial aid program to facilitate the aid process and provide accurate information to involved parties, maintaining the integrity of student records in accordance with regulations and standards

Essential Job Functions

  • Awards financial aid packages to students per federal, state and university guidelines and protocol
  • Reviews financial aid files in accordance with federal guidelines to verify information in the records either to approve funds or as part of the appeals process
  • Certifies student loans to authorize disbursements of funds to the students' accounts and keep accounts up-to-date and accurate
  • Assists in creating financial aid packages for aid applicants and adjusts financial records based on changes to student records or via documentation
  • Administers federal aid reconciliation and manages the transfer monitoring process with the Department of Education to maintain accurate data, as assigned
  • Downloads and processes financial aid applicant records from the Department of Education, as assigned
  • Participates in a rotation schedule to staff the first point of contact area for visitors and callers
  • Answers customer questions in a professional and courteous manner providing accurate information and/or referring to the appropriate department staff members
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree 
  • Experience in business or in other related work
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field of study

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
