Works collaboratively with volunteers, administrators and staff to implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for various prospects to secure gifts that will reduce the financial barriers for students and provide the best resources possible to JWU

Essential Job Functions

• Identifies, cultivates, solicits, stewards and manages relationships of prospective donors
• Participates in the development and implementation of strategic and operational planning for the department
• Maintains relationships with university representatives and works collaboratively to develop funding priorities in step with the university's strategic plan
• Engages university representatives in fundraising activities in order to maximize potential philanthropy to the university
• Maintains knowledge of current best practices in the field of fundraising and advances understanding through professional development
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree
• Experience with fundraising, major gift or other related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or greater in communications, business or a related field of study 
• Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge
