Essential Job Functions
- Manages daily operations of the admissions office
- Assists with the creation and implementation of campus strategic recruitment plans and manages assigned recruitment territory
- Manages the development and execution of admissions strategies including events, travel and student recruitment activities (e.g. school visits, college fairs, classroom presentations, information meetings, etc.) within an assigned territory
- Manages the admission review process to maintain a timely review of applications and decision notification
- Leads the admissions team in the review and evaluation of admissions applications and related documents, including contacting students to retrieve missing or incomplete documents, conducts admissions interviews and renders decisions for admissions acceptance and scholarship impact
- Conducts school outreach to meet with prospective students, school educators and school counselors to support student recruitment
- Counsels students and parents regarding admissions requirements, consults with high school counselors, educators, and communicates with prospective students regarding the admissions and financial aid process
- Remains up to date on admission and enrollment changes by attending and participating in professional development conferences, seminars and workshops
- Serves on internal and external committees to support admission, enrollment and retention
- Collaborates with other university departments to support applicant yield and retention
- Performs data analysis and forecasting related to admissions goals and strategic plan
- Prepares and monitors departmental budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in college or university admissions, education, nonprofit or related experience
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
