Summary

Meets with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support related to course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments so students can successfully complete their coursework; as well as provides instruction, teaching and guidance in the area of academic success skills

Essential Job Functions

  • Tutors students on specific course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments
  • Tutors students in the area of academic success skills (e.g. learning strategies, time management, etc.)
  • Coordinates tutoring goals with advisers, academic counselors and faculty to effectively meet student needs
  • Attends tutor training sessions and staff meetings, as applicable
  • Administers individualized tests to students with accommodations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Ability to facilitate tutoring sessions in individual, small group, and classroom settings

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage a schedule that includes scheduled appointments and walk-ins
  • Experience tutoring college-level basic math, algebra, statistics, biostatistics, pre-calculus, and calculus

 

Please Note:

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
