Essential Job Functions
- Travels to field-based laboratory sites with faculty and students to support student learning opportunities with live animals
- Maintains laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies according to departmental guidelines
- Completes set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises to prepare the laboratory for academic use
- Provides for proper and safe storage and disposal of hazardous liquid and solid waste in compliance with university, state and federal safety regulations
- Maintains SDS (Safety Data Sheet) records
- Assists faculty and students with operation of laboratory equipment
- Assists with purchasing and ordering laboratory supplies, as necessary
- Assists in preparing and monitoring departmental budget, as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
- Laboratory experience working in an academic or industry setting, experience working with live animals or other related experience
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
