Essential Job Functions

• Travels to field-based laboratory sites with faculty and students to support student learning opportunities with live animals
• Maintains laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies according to departmental guidelines
• Completes set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises to prepare the laboratory for academic use
• Provides for proper and safe storage and disposal of hazardous liquid and solid waste in compliance with university, state and federal safety regulations
• Maintains SDS (Safety Data Sheet) records
• Assists faculty and students with operation of laboratory equipment
• Assists with purchasing and ordering laboratory supplies, as necessary
• Assists in preparing and monitoring departmental budget, as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
• Laboratory experience working in an academic or industry setting, experience working with live animals or other related experience
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
