Summary

Registers first-term freshmen, transfer students and/or doctoral candidates and advises them and other students on various academic matters to support their academic achievement, maintaining the integrity of student records in accordance with regulations and standards

Essential Job Functions

  • Helps to develop and maintain the master academic schedule in the student information system and assists with academic room assignments
  • Schedules first-term freshman, transfer and other students as needed
  • Creates academic planners that are used as a registration tool for students
  • Manages experiential education term assignments to verify that students who are enrolled in those programs are placed appropriately and that they are on track to complete their degree requirements
  • Assists in monitoring and advising specific populations of students
  • Runs reports on student records to facilitate course scheduling and identify discrepancies
  • Participates in a rotation schedule to staff the first point of service area (e.g. front desk) for callers and visitors
  • Supervises and manages student employees to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
  • Experience working in higher education or other related experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner software
