Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive plan for disability services and in and out of classroom accommodations for students with disabilities
  • Meets with prospective and current students and their families, as needed, and maintains records accordingly
  • Provides disability services orientations to students, parents and faculty
  • Educates faculty on best practices they can use while teaching students with disabilities including researching and recommending assistive technology
  • Advises on personal and academic issues for students with disabilities
  • Coordinates special workshops, instructional programs and placement testing, as necessary
  • Manages compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act to consistently meet the needs of students
  • Participates with various departmental or campus committees on disability related issues
  • Proctors testing sessions, as necessary
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree
  • Moderate amount of experience advising students with disabilities or other related experience

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
