Essential Job Functions

  • Directs the daily operations of the campus library including allocating space, processing and organizing resources, and planning for future needs
  • Collaborates with members of the department universitywide and other university departments on strategies, operational initiatives, and outcomes
  • Designs and delivers programs and services tailored to fulfill the educational, informational, and communal needs of the campus, emphasizing the library as an essential resource
  • Assists students and faculty with information research to provide library patrons with the necessary tools to meet educational objectives
  • Coordinates and conducts instructional sessions on information literacy with students and faculty
  • Attends library conferences, meetings, and HELIN meetings to coordinate local and regional library initiatives, as requested
  • Serves as collection development selector for assigned subject areas
  • Assists with departmental budget
  • Supervises and develops staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree
  • Moderate amount of experience managing library services or other related experience

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
