Summary

Designs, implements and coordinates the donor relations and stewardship programs for JWU, promoting interaction with donors to enhance overall fundraising actions by strengthening and sustaining relationships with donors

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and implements opportunities for prospects and donors to participate in the university’s teaching and learning community
  • Guides, tracks and reports on donor activity through data analysis
  • Designs and coordinates implementation of a universitywide stewardship and prospect/donor relations strategy, as well as develops standard operating procedures to maintain compliance
  • Oversees development and implementation of policies and procedures associated with prospect/donor relations strategy
  • Collaborates with other university departments in an effort to establish and oversee storage, tracking, and reporting of information pertaining to donor and prospect relationships
  • Collects, integrates, and analyzes data from multiple university data systems to develop a calendar of both broad and donor-specific stewardship and prospect/donor engagement opportunities
  • Cultivates, solicits and stewards a portfolio of prospects/donors developing long term relationships to enhance scholarship and other giving
  • Collaborates with donors and other university departments to establish scholarship funds in compliance with university policies, IRS regulations and donor intentions
  • Prepares and monitors departmental budget
  • Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in donor relations, stewardship program development, fundraising or in other related work
  • Ability to travel occasionally

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in business management, liberal arts or a related field of study
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or a similar CRM platform
